Summary:

The Staff Accountant II manages the general accounting function for a group of hotels. Primary responsibilities include financial statement preparation, general ledger entries and verification, analysis and financial reporting, preparation of sales tax returns, balance sheet reconciliations and hotel accounting support.


Responsibilities



* Handling of hotel assignments - including those properties with F&B departments

* Preparation of periodic income statements

* Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts

* Ensures compliance with all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).

* Review of Daily Revenue reports from multiple hotel locations

* Preparation of Payments for Management and Royalty fees

* Training of property level personnel on Accounting Best Practices and Accounting Software

* Preparation of Monthly Sales and Occupancy taxes

* Preparation of cash flow statements

* Set-up and preparation of new openings/takeovers

* Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

SKILLS

* Able to use standard software applications and ERP system.

* Understanding of hotel accounting processes and systems

* Ability to work independently

* Experienced and skilled in reconciliations

* Ability to function well in a fast-paced, team oriented environment

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required

* 1+ years’ experience preferred

* Experience with multiple locations in a centralized accounting environment preferred.
