Summary:

The Regional Director of Engineering (RDOE) is a strategic business leader for all units within his/her area of responsibility, providing engineering, technical, consulting expertise and seeks out opportunities for improvement within the Engineering function. The RDOE evaluates risks and works within areas of expertise to provide effective solutions. The Regional Director of Engineering will provide strategic leadership and direction to the senior engineering leader on each property within his/her region. This communication will also be disseminated to the property General Manager and the respective Regional Vice President and Vice President of Engineering. This person will monitor and support the overall direction for the engineering function to ensure that the regional practices are aligned with the overall corporate direction. The Regional Director of Engineering uses engineering knowledge, skills and sources of information to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and to maximize the financial performance for managed units. The RDOE will be responsible for the reduction of any engineering-related red-zone properties, the support of any renovation of new development and the selection and properties


Responsibilities



* Provide regional solutions and high level technical consultation relating to Preventive Maintenance, CapEx, Standardized Reporting, ADA/Regulatory Compliance and Engineering Balanced Scorecard.
* Develop organizational structure within the region to execute tactical Engineering tasks.
* Support and direct activities of property engineering leaders related to project management, brand consistency and enhanced financial performance.
* Monitor productivity improvement and operational performance as measured by GSS, R&M and HLP. Execute engineering strategies and monitor property performance against defined expectations.
* Effectively network and manage resources as demonstrated by appropriate utilization of corporate staff (e.g. A&C, Engineering, Finance, Avendra) and outside consultants.
* Own annual review of CapEx template.
* Provide problem-solving expertise in operational and emergency situations.
* Provide technical information and support to property engineering leaders.
* Identify consultants/contractors, writes scope, solicit bids and reviews bid responses prior to constructions
* Direct interface with Owners representatives to address property issues, supporting owners with data and recommendations on how to proceed to solution
* Provide associates with challenging assignments and training opportunities to develop their knowledge, awareness, and skills. Anticipate future talent needs based on business plans. Develop plans to proactively address skill and resource gaps.
* Transfer functional knowledge and develop the engineering skills of other discipline managers.
* Actively pursue learning and self-development to enhance personal, professional and unit growth i.e., keep abreast of newest trends and innovations in the market & industry. Share learnings.
* Seek and welcome feedback. Take action to enhance performance based on experiences & coaching. Admit to and learn from mistakes.
* Identify processes and technology that creates a learning environment. Actively participate in professional and internal areas and business council organizations to stay abreast of current developments.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

* 2 year college degree or equivalent industry work experience
