Position: Line Cook (Lead, Senior, and Entry-level) Locations: Edge Rooftop Bar, Dean’s Italian Steak House, Corner, Banquets Schedule: Open availability required; able to work any day, any time Overview White Lodging operates a collection of award-winning, premium-brand restaurants and bars. Our culinary team is dedicated to providing an exceptional dining experience, and we are looking for skilled and passionate Line Cooks at various levels to join our team and contribute to a positive guest experience. Each Line Cook level has unique responsibilities and expectations outlined below. |
What You'll Do and What You'll Bring |
Lead Line Cook Responsibilities: · Act as a Sous Chef in training, stepping in to fulfill sous chef duties in their absence. · Mentor and collaborate with Entry and Senior Line Cooks, and apprentices. · Oversee daily food preparation and production in assigned outlets. · Monitor food cost and labor cost, maintaining efficiency without compromising quality. · Verify the freshness and quality of ingredients, following recipes and portion control standards. · Foster teamwork and respect within the kitchen environment. · Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef or management. Requirements: · Minimum of 3 years of cooking experience, with at least 1 year in a Lead role; a minimum of 5 years of experience is required. · Expertise in all cooking techniques, including sautéing, broiling, frying, roasting, and butchery. · Culinary education or apprenticeship is preferred, but not mandatory. Senior Line Cook Responsibilities: · Support the Lead Line Cook and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations. · Assist in training and guiding Entry Line Cooks and apprentices. · Contribute to the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals with consistency and quality. · Manage assigned kitchen stations, ensuring stock levels and ingredient freshness. · Respond proactively to guest feedback and contribute to positive dining experiences. Requirements: · Minimum of 3 years of cooking experience with a preference for at least 1 year in a Senior role. · Proficiency in essential cooking methods and ability to work various kitchen stations. · Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety practices. Entry Line Cook Responsibilities: · Prepare ingredients and perform basic cooking tasks under the guidance of Senior and Lead Line Cooks. · Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food handling within assigned stations. · Adhere to recipe guidelines and portion sizes to ensure quality and consistency. · Work efficiently to support kitchen flow and ensure timely meal preparation. · Assist with kitchen inventory, stocking, and cleaning tasks. Requirements: · Minimum of 2 years of cooking experience; experience must include actual cooking, not serving, cashiering, or sales. · Strong work ethic, ability to learn quickly, and willingness to follow directions. · Basic cooking knowledge and understanding of kitchen safety protocols. |
