Summary:

The Corporate Accounting Supervisor manages the general accounting function for a group of hotels, has supervisory responsibilities and has the ability to train others. Primary responsibilities includes the development of accountants, financial statement preparation, general ledger entries and verification, analysis and financial reporting, preparation of sales tax returns, balance sheet reconciliations, and hotel accounting support.


Responsibilities



* Supervise a minimum of one associate & perform annual staff evaluations.
* Review balance sheet reconciliation work papers for accounting staff.
* Approval of flash reviews during month end.
* Preparation of monthly financial statements for resorts type properties
* Onboarding and training of new staff members.
* Work with third party auditors.
* Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
* Ensures compliance with all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).
* Review of Daily Revenue reports from multiple hotel locations
* Preparation of Payments for Management and Royalty fees
* Preparation of Monthly Sales and Occupancy taxes
* Set-up and preparation of new openings/takeovers
* Coverage of check run as needed
* Daily Sales Reporting as assigned
* Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

SKILLS

* An intermediate ability to use standard software applications and ERP system
* Knowledge of overall hotel operations as they affect the corporate accounting department.
* Understanding of Accounting Standard Operating Procedures and Internal Control Best Practices.
* Strong Communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work well under pressure.
* Experienced and skilled in complex reconciliations
* Ability to participate and contribute to projects
* Strong Presentation skills
* Strong customer and associate relation skills

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
* 3+ years’ experience preferred
* Experience with multiple locations in a centralized accounting environment preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

* This position will require that you work out of the home office during period end & year end
* This position will be allowed flexible work arrangements of up to two days a weeks; however this may be reduced during times of training.
